David,

i don't know about rob v, but my phone came from AWS. i am pretty sure i could get a phone for the same price from any carrier. and yes, it could be the carriers that are desperate, but in my case, i paid the carrier $100 and have a $50 rebate, which i assume is being paid by the equipment maker. so they both seem desperate to me -g-.
i must say, each year NOK and the rest of the gang come out with these bullish forecasts for the following year, then they progressively ratchet down. just think, 2 yrs ago NOK was calling for up to 600MM handsets, and now they are down at 400MM. but at least NOK is able to maintain decent margins in this environment. i find it amazing in the no- to slow-growth environment that any company can trade at over 5 times sales.
