Due to accounting changes, Intel no longer had to amortize goodwill, and that was probably the bulk of the decreased loss in "all other".

Good thing, yes. Based on Intel performance, probably not. I suspect that cutting all those consumer product lines also helped other profits. Now if we could get them to shutter the server farms...
