Don't forget that it hit right where the regional gov't houses their offices too.........

And by the looks of things, the plane (which indicated engine troubles in it's SOS) hit the building dead center & flying level. Engine troubles for a small plane usually don't inhibit the controls or the pilot from being able to steer the plane. Live shots from Milan show plenty of clear air space to either side of the building.

Oh, & the pilot was the only person on board the plane too.
