I wouldnt ignore appeasement as a result of such a thing, not response. Since WW1 it became a mainstay of europe policy. Italy would be pissed however if the french appeased.
Anyone remember west side story--the line in by Sgt Krupke i think "they are depraved on accouna theyre deprived." Thats how much of europe sees el quaida i am afraid. mike

FWIW
My pilot friend says a plane with engine trouble flying from locarno to rome would avoid downtown like the plague unless he had lost total control. And even in that scenario it would be unlikely to hit landmark bldg. Another coinidence?
