The context, as I said, may concern whether a statement is intended to be a factual assertion. Such as whether "you're a bastard" is intended as a statement of fact or an opinion of personal value.

But once that is done, at least in my jurisdiction, as far as I know, not being a defamation specialist, context is not taken into account to determine whether the statement was defamatory.

Federal defamation law may be different. I can only speak for my own jurisdiction.

I personally don't put too much reliance on web site legal analysis, but that may be because I have the resources to go to the authoritative sources the courts rely on.
