But I would like to add my .02 worth on some of the proposals you make. 1. Israel and Jordan cooperate together to maintain a demilitarized zone in the West Bank and Gaza (mainly on the West Bank).. Since both have an interest in seeing a non-threatening Palestinian entity, if any at all, then both should cooperate to maintain and preserve the security of each respective state by assisting and coordinating economic and military policy to the benefit of all parties. And the Palestinians in the West Bank stand to gain considerable economic power by being the economic broker between both states. 2. Jewish settlements can remain, but Jews living there will come under the governmetntal and administrative authority of the Palestinian government (taxes, internal security), as well as receiving political participation as Israelis Arabs enjoy in the Knesset. If they don't want to live under such conditions, they can move back across the green line. 3. The buffer zones you speak of Captain, ARE the Jewish settlements. They are established in a 3 layer line of "resistance" and the original purpose of their creation was for the purpose of establishing strong-points which could provide a delaying action under Israeli reserves were mobilized. 4. I think we agree on that one.... :0) 5. Agreed.. no right of return. But right of immigration for both sides. 6. East Jerusalem as a capital, but the entire city essentially being shared by both states. An "open city" you might say.. which will increase the symbiotic nature of the economic and political relationship between both states. 7. Agreed... FULL diplomatic relations.. People just admit they all have to bite the bullet and resolve to live and get along with one another, hopefully to mutual economic benefit. And I can see one other alternative to this scenario, should the Arabs push Israel too far. That would be Sharon resolving to "sacrifice" the Hashemite regime in Jordan and convert it into the Palestinian state which will give the "right of return" an entirely new meaning. Hawk
