FWIW, I think they said they're hiring into the microprocessor design group.

They're doing just what I want them to, as a long term shareholder.

An abrupt exit from the microprocessor business would spell the end of the Sun story as we've known it; the party's over, the lights go out.

Anything's possible if the company doesn't start making money again, but that particular transition can't happen under any circumstances for at least several more years...SUNW is too close to break-even and has too strong a balance sheet. No way will it happen by June of '03.

Ramp-up on Cobalt-class machines with Intel or AMD processors running Linux is certainly possible.

Edit: Of course that doesn't mean that the stock can't go to $2 or $3 if there are a few more unprofitable quarters in a row.
