Not true. The whole infrastructure needs to be built for ANWAR. Either a port or a pipeline needs to be built. Or are they gonna teleport the oil?

They plan to harness the caribou and have them bring it down in barrels.

"This is not true. The technologies you mention are years from making a significant contribution"

Not true.

You saying it doesn't make it fact. The fact is that fuel cells are not going to make a significant contribution for years. When they do (and they will), it will be great. But this is a technology in its infancy.

There are numerous other great technologies -- for example, in the area of superconductors -- that will make huge differences in our consumption. But these are technologies that have been in development for years and still aren't close. Fuel cells are but one more of these (although the promise is great).

Not true. The whole infrastructure needs to be built for ANWAR

It is characteristic of liberalism to radically overestimate the times for such things. Remember Carl Sagan, talking about the "nuclear winter" effect from Saddam's setting Kuwait oil fields on fire? Remember the original estimate of "five years" to put the fires out? A job handled in seven months. Typical.

Again, the real point is you simply can't put forth a sensible argument against opening ANWR to drilling.
