You understand how compromise works, right? It's like bartering. You never get everything you want. Right now, we are building roads into places to log less in dollars than the cost of the road and the damage to the ecosystem. This is clearly not a harmonized and balanced approach. This proposal was a gambit by qualified professional scientists who did their homework. The small amount of revenue indicates that these communities would be better off attaching their livelihoods to a growth industry (like recreation) than a necessarily shrinking one (the unsustainable harvest of old growth forest and the resultant loss of biodiversity.)
