Good calls , Lindy and John. I'd like to see people limit their article posts to two a day.

When I started FADG, I'd post a three or four items most nights to get the conversation jump started the next morning. I wanted to see how people would react to items from different countries and cultures. I certainly did not want to convince anyone of anything -- I simply wanted to be an agent for education and inquiry. But lately, the article posting has been morphing into something completely different -- it's as if we've started using the articles as debating weapons rather than trying to post just a few representative opinions from the media for the sake of discussion and then expending the effort to put our own thoughts and interpretations on the table.

So, (everyone) let's give the two articles per day per poster thing a try and see how it goes. Everyone has my permission to harass non-compliant posters...and no fair trading "pollution" credits either. :o)

My rule is not to post news stories unless I think they are unique, we all have them available. I try to stick to opinion and analysis articles. I will also try to post opinions that I do not agree with, if I think they are well written.

Let me add one more rule, if I might. That's trying to annotate one's posts. Let readers know why you consider the post important, either by writing your own prose about it, or highlighting the text sections that are important to you, or bringing them to the beginning of the post, or some combination of the above.
