The real problem for Intel is its size IMO.

I arrived at the same conclusion. Unfortunately, about 8 years too early, when I sold my Intel shares <g>

I still think that total pie of all microprocessor sales is not going to grow at the rate it has been growing, but then, I was wrong before.

The diversification of Intel has not produced any results yet, and has basically been a total waste of money. My idea for running Intel would be to invest enough to maintain leadership in microprocessors and what is immediately needed to support it, and return the rest of the profit to investors as dividends.
