Ted - 1 - I am strongly in to individual freedom, but its not "the rest be damned". Freedom is a very high priority for me, but its not like I support no limits on it if the need is great. The need to ban SUVs is not great. 2 - It might be possible that Arab terrorists think we are soft because of SUVs or our oil use, but there is no actual evidence for this idea. It seems obvious, and there is some actual evidence (statements from bin Laden and others) that the terrorists thought we where soft because we didn't strike hard against them when they struck against us again and again.
