My grandmother was from North Dakota. It's got a very low population per square mile. Mostly farmers and ranchers.

Not many black people, nor Hispanics, nor Asians, and not all that many white people, either. What's your point?

I'm not sure what the Jewish population percentage of my home state is, it's in the upper midwest and I'd assume it's at least a little below average. That didn't keep a former Senator from being the #1 Senate recipient of Israel PAC money at one time. It's also an oil free state, but that didn't keep the same Senator from being the #1 recipient of oil PAC money. The guy must have had a bigger neon for sale sign on his back than the average Senator. I'm not quite sure how he reconciled the oil interests with the Israeli interests, but I'm pretty certain the process didn't have much to do with representative democracy in the conventional sense.
