This CNBC business of MSFT having an upside surprise is ludicrous.

Immediately before the earnings release the concensus pro forma estimate was a profit of 0.51/share.

The GAAP figure was 0.49. After excluding the one time gain of 0.15 from Expedia and the one time investment impairment loss of 0.14, the pro forma loss was 0.48

That is a 0.03 miss on pro forma or 0.02 on GAAP. No way is this an upside surprise.
