Runes, Sharon is the one pushing for a conference in the US with arab states largely to to discuss implementation of the saudi plan. Meetings with the PLO alone are futile. What did suicide bombing get palestinians--those folks must be asking themselves that too now that they have been defeated. What the hell are they doing in the compound in the first place if they dont take orders from arafat. Israelis have already taken the PR hit in Jenin. They can start the withdrawl and then hopefully there will be a cease fire. I think things are sorting themselves out. Powell mission may be judged in a better lite in the future. We shall see. mike
