NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Credible threats have been made against U.S. banks in the Northeast, Fox News reported Friday, citing government sources. The nature of the threats wasn't disclosed, but according to Fox News, the Justice Department or the Federal Bureau of Investigation is expected to make an announcement about the threats around 2 p.m. EDT (1800 GMT). The announcement could be posted on the FBI Web site, Fox said. According to Fox, this threat isn't related to one earlier in the week made against banks in the Washington D.C. area.
