Libby:

That story has two of my favorite elements, Gen.Y and political correctness, on a collision course. But of course there will be no collision.

The "2 Wongs don't make a white" phrase comes from an Australian prime minister in response to why his country in the 1950's wasn't too "keen" on Asian immigration when they were boating folks over from England and America.

Generation Y (current teenagers) don't have a political consciousness, so whatever the Stanford students think about ANF really doesn't count ("I mean, so what, like, whatever, it's just a shirt, whatever!"). It's interesting but I bet there wouldn't be a problem with a T-shirt (or a book jacket) that says "Stupid White Men." Funny how that works.

In any event, a teen, edgy store like ANF has Teflon in terms of its exposure to the politically correct diatribes, a protection that, say JCP or Sears wouldn't have. After all, those are perceived to be male and white, whereas ANF is just, well, you know, edgy.

It will build traffic and not bother the ANF chart, imho.
