Up until the recent spurt in the price of crude, drilling for oil has not been cost effective for drillers.

Uh, isn't this just a little inconsistent with your assertion that the reason the Oil Companies want ANWR opened up is to make more of that nasty old money?

Not at all........most people expect crude prices to continue to go up once the recovery is firmly in place. By the time, ANWR is expected to start production, crude prices may be much higher...........or did you think that the oil companies were pushing ANWR drilling because they were concerned about our oil dependencies?
