Reynoso,

What is it about Windows XP that leaves a bad taste in peoples' mouths? What is your experience with it?

I think it could be the sense of being tracked.

Joe

Personally, I don't run it but I've seen it and used it enough to see what's going on.
Joe is right, the sense of being tracked is not pleasant.
The idea that some jackboot can invade your home or your computer...
The idea that someone at MS can look at your computer, passwords, ids etc. The idea that if you reformat your HD or change too much hardware you have to call big brother.
The thing even bugs you to sign up for passport and give out your cc's which MS willl keep "safe". Gimmie a break.
When you do an update for XP you have to log in and let MS examine your computer. All the information they take they say they delete immediately..."oh sure".

MS appears to be pushing privacy to the limit for their own benefit. Likely stepped way over the line with winXP.
