The diamond distribution in the partially analyzed core samples appears to follow the pattern established at Freightrain where there is a very high percentage of large macrodiamonds (+1 mm) (see news in Stockwatch July 18, 2001). A five-metre section of JI-CG1-02, weighing 18.65 kilograms, returned 11 diamonds of which four were macros. Two of these stones were greater than one millimetre, weighed 0.028 of a carat, measured 2.05 x 1.48 x 1.12 mm and 1.14 x 0.80 x 0.22 mm, and were described by Lakefield as fragments." Summary of Cargo 1: Two drill-holes were drilled at right angles into the mag anomaly called Cargo 1. The total footage drilled is unspecified but the 2 holes reportedly intersected 231 meters of kimberlite. A five meter interval of the second hole was analyzed with the results reported above. Question: Do you pick 5 meters out of 231 at random, have it analyzed immediately (Dec 12, 2001), report encouraging results and save the other 226 for later - nearly half a year later with speculation that their results will be better? Was there something about those 5 meters that caught someone's eye? Let me be frank - the whole exploration sequence and the selective reporting of "encouraging" results doesn't pass the sniff test. And it will take timely disclosure of the results of the rest of Cargo 1 core, and the 14 Freightrain holes to make the smell go away.
