re: Hummm, I've heard some amazing generalization about Intel management from the 'Droid camp'

care to share what kind of generalization? I do recall that moderated thread was called racist though.....

re: right after the 9/11 attacks, it does become more credible....by those that react instead of think

that why at 1st I thought that there might be something to it until I read that Sanders canceled business deal - Jerry would make pact with a devil for a business deal.

re: I suspect there is some truth, and some exaggeration, to the suit......do you put it past Mr. Sanders to act with some degree of bad judgement

I agree, but he also talks about Ruiz and others..... It was likely that he found whatever was said offensive for himself even if it was not meant that way. Hey, Times and the rest of the papers reported how arabs (in general) cheered for suicide bombers, including those in US (Sept 11). If I would be an Arab I might find that type of generalization very offensive but it is hardly a discrimination.

If you put it into the context of the timeframe, right after the 9/11 attacks, it does become more credible. There was a significant backlash against Arabs and Muslims, by those that react instead of think (Mr. Sanders?). And there is a tendency at a lot of companies to imitate the social behavior of the leader, especially if the company is as hierarchical as AMD.

John, I agree that there may well be some credibility to this suit......after 9/11, there were ethnic slurs directed against Arab/Muslims in most places in this country, and I suspect AMD was no different. And of course, I am certain Magribi heard some of them. And I can very well see Sanders asking Magribi if he's Arab/Muslim and being surprised that he is. None of this is good of course, but I bet that's where it ended. In the meantime, I suspect Magribi's position was not as strong as it once had been, and he was probably on his way out. Because of all the sensitivity around issues related to 9/11 and probably because of his contract, I bet they felt they could not fire him so they gave him lesser jobs in the hope that he would leave voluntarily.

Who knows. I suspect there is some truth, and some exaggeration, to the suit. This guy was a senior executive, I doubt that this is pure fantasy. Honestly, do you put it past Mr. Sanders to act with some degree of bad judgement given the situation? Remembering his off the cuff (and remarkably stupid) statements about Intel, this doesn't surprise me.

In a cat and mouse game, sometimes all the mouse has is words. Not for a moment did I think that Sanders was stupid for attacking Intel. He, almost single handedly, kept Intel under investigation with the Feds for a number of years........and his rants have pretty much forced Intel to almost bend over backwards in order to play fair in its dealings with AMD.

To me, if Sanders is stupid, then he's stupid like a fox.......and then, of course, there are a number of ways to skin a cat. ;~))
