The true figure is 33 billion Bush tax breaks for Big Oil.
9 billion is only this year. 9 billion PER YEAR for his term plus a few extra years to annoy John Kerry the next presdient, and make billions for Halliburton and Bush friends, all Bush really cares about. Only reason he ran for President. Bush will collect $100,000,000 after he leaves office for the scam. Would have been Enron but they are out. James Baker will taken over instead. Our money, your money, my friend. All for devastating wilderness and polluting more. Don't defend these greedy manipulative dishonest destructive A-holes. One word "Enron". Bush's best friend, largest contributor (2.5 million), engineer of energy de-regulation (excuse to rip off tens of billions) and creator. Two of a kind like Siamese Twins. BNush almost worked for Enron. But the force behind Enron has not gone bakrupt, it's just transferred onto Duke, Halliburton, Chevron. PS - I own HAL stock and think it's undervalued

From network news story:

"The House passed its version of President Bush’s energy plan, including the ANWR provision and $33 billion in tax breaks for energy companies, in August."
