Intel got caught greedy more than napping.
As far as Hammer...tell your bosses not even to worry about it. If you think AMD will get all that funky SOI and X86-64 stuff to work...well don't worry...not going to be easy.

--- I don't think so, remember, I was there. I remember when Athlon was introduced, and I was sitting in a Staff Meeting when my Boss said "AMD has introduced their Athlon, but don't worry, they had manufacturing problems with their K6, so they probably won't be able to manufacture it".

We're not falling for that one..... again.

Hammer will likely intro at 2000 MHz (PR3400)(only a 13 stage pipeline they say)..late...way late...
Meanwhile, P4s will be rambling right along...
Jim

--- Maybe..... Probably, but the point I was making is that intel is most likely going on the assumption of 3400MHz. In addition, their attitude is WAY different then it was before Athlon was introduced. Now that they have a slight lead..... The thing to do, Is increase it.... Run up the score..... Go for the jugular..... Knock them down, AND step on them too...... But don't kill them, the DOJ is watching.....

Like I've said..... We're awake now......
