I left a word in that post. The second sentence should read:

Businesses may not do too badly as tax collection agencies. I see this more as an effort by gov't to hide the true tax rate from its citizens. And a highly successful one. We pat lots of taxes that are built into the price of goods and services we but and we have no way of knowing that their there.

What's your true tax rate? Let's see, if your successful, your top dollar goes at 39% federal and 9% state here in CA. 48%. But that's not the end. Sales tax is 8%. figure 2/3 of yur purchases get hit by that. Niw we're up to 53%. And then there are taxes you don't see at all. Like the built-in corporate tax you pay when you but most things. Or those businesses' incorporation fees. Or....
