"I think that the notion of a "historical claim" is often confused with the idea of a biblical claim"

Wow! That is confusing! If the "historical" claim is based on some biblical mythology, then how is it more remarkable than those mythos of myriad other nations?

Supernatural and mythological "claims" can not be factually processed, and are inherently discriminatory. Sheesh! Who doesn't want free land...:-)

Well, Steve...I am sure you know that I am fooling around.

"Any historical claim would be one among many; there have been a fair number of changes in occupancy"

HA! Every nation and people have their creation myths and history lessons.

So what is the Jewish "historical claim" basis? I know it was superceded and thus invalidated by the Islamic "historical claim" basis. But still.

I was taught that Homo Sapiens was one people:: equal in heaven, and equal in earth. I am not a Jew. I am not a Cree. I am not an Arab. But am I less than these??

Who or what is a "Jew", or a "Palestinian" that these people get to kill all their children over a bloody rock and invisible temple--and I don't get to kill any of mine??? I am a human being, too. And that implies equality for all except racists. So why is the Temple MOunt land not equally mine...and yours???

Is a jew better than me? Is a Palestinian better than me? Land id wonderful. It is the ultimate resource. Why is it not equally available to all?

I think we should award ownership of the land to France, since the last king of Jerusalem recognised by western governments was the former King of Provence... the logical inheritor, then, would be the leader of the area now, which stands a good chance of being Mayor of Marseille. Or, the way things are at the moment, the abominable le Pen.

Maybe the threat alone would get the ME fighters to make peace. Or maybe at least common cause...
