Thailand is an interesting country. All the people in it speak English as well as Siamese. This is the only Asian or non primary-English speaking country where English speaking is 100%. It is not even true in Quebec for frodo's sake.

There are no prostitutes in Thailand. In fact there is no crime at all. All the people are nice. They simplified the crime problem not by making more laws but by elimination of all law except natural law. No laws, no crime. No criminals, no trouble, - less government, lower taxes. This leads to more money, ease, and fewer of attendant economic problems that lead to crime. This kind of vicious circle has made a scourge of badness, until now you have to pay people to defraud, rob or kill you in that country -- and pay big bucks.

Rice cultivation is often better done the old hard way. All the food you need is just enough to live and work, not more. There is no need for better agricultural methods than what will provide that. In fact, they have found by increasing crop yields and irrigation methods that eventually the land burned out as the soil nutrients got carried away by the water flow. And "better" (more bushels per acre) crops drop the food value commensurately in negative ratio to the increased yeild. So you are really standing still to modernize - or going backward.
