The Israelis have learned too. Instead of sending infantry into booby trapped buildings, you bulldoze them first.

Lindy.. You're exactly right.. An acquaintance of mine wrote a book on how American soldiers developed specialized tactic during the France campaign, including blowing holes in walls to stay off the streets.

Btw, the book is called "Closing with the Enemy" by Micheal Doubler. Fascinating reading displaying the American preference for firepower over manpower.

Btw, no one has mentioned that civilians were entirely welcome to evacuate those towns.. Of course, I'm sure they were afraid of being killed by their "own people" who needed them as human shields (in violation of the Geneva Convention)..

What do you mean :" when we invaded France..." ? Didn't you guys liberate France ?
Now, Paris, as it is a well known, documented, historically correct fact, etc... Paris was liberated by Parisians. (better smile than cry).
