No I didn't. If Microsoft chooses neither, they will continue to see Linux take marketshare in the server market from them. as I stated, Microsoft considers Linux to be "the" threat. With a pretty constant 2% of the desktop market, it's safe to assume that Microsoft is worried there.

Consider that apache, which primarily runs on Linux or Unix, runs 65% of the active sites on the web, as of Feb. of this year.
netcraft.com

The pressure on Microsoft to do something is there.

--- The stuff you show proves even more that there would be difficult if not impossible to prove any "qpq" if Microsoft supports X86-64 or not, but that's not the point.

The point is, Regardless of what Microsoft does, Support Hammer and X86-64....and Yamhill..... Good for intel. Don't support it.... Good For intel IA-64, bad for Microsoft. It's No Lose for intel. Intel can sit on the sidelines, and benefit regardless. That's what I care about, not Microsoft.

We set up our Linux and Solaris Apache servers to report themselves as "Microsoft Internet Information Server" servers to complicate things for Hackers.

I'm surprised more sites don't use that capability of Apache's.
