OT: This Nigerian scam goes around and comes around. A number of years ago, I was contacted with an almost identical offer, except I think my cut was only around $10 million! There's inflation for you!

When I contacted the police the response was "The officer in charge of Nigerian scams is out of the office"! Seems it goes on all the time.

I saw a T.V. program about these kinds of scams some months later. Apparently, a few Canadians (that's were I live) show up in Lagos each week in response! The catch in these scams is that you have to give these guys several thousand dollars, supposed the fee to release the money. Then they keep you hanging around as long as they can to see if they can squeeze more out of you, before you get wise. If you end up going to your Embassy in Lagos you get one, and only one, piece of advice - "Get on the next plane home. Forget about what's been stolen from you. Your life may be in danger".

Lance - at least he could have changed countries - You must be living in a closet if you havent heard of the Nigerian Scams. God s honest truth is a Newfoundland Lawyer fell for the scam ( TWICE)AND fIRS THEY GOT HIM TO FORWARD THE FUNDS SO HE COULD "SNAEK $10 mm OU TOF THE COUNTRY SO HE GAVE THEM LIKE $100K. Then they said the money had all been dyed and they need aanother $50k to "undye" the money and he sent them $50k - talk about averaging down.
