Dorine, I was not aware of the story that elder Bush paid Iran $40,000,000 to hold the hostages until
after Reagan won the election. Carter and Reagan were in a dead heat for the race.
The money was said to come from fund that was donated to Nixon by the Shaw
of Iran. The original donation was $60,000,000, according to the article TP found.
