typo corrected:

However, I am very disturbed that all the Palestinians
I have met, don't speak as moderately as the paper above.
Instead, I hear excuses for terrorism and hatred for Jews
and an unwillingness to compromise.

addition:
questions:
If a Palestinian state is created will that weaken the
defenses of Israel?
Was it the goal of Israel for Arabs and Jews to co-exist
in WBGS or would the Palestinians just have pockets like Hebron, Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, and Jericho?

<< What are both parties true feelings???
Compromise or war?

Israel has agreed to compromise on several occasions.

The PLO can't or won't compromise because too many of their people will not stop until every Jew is dead. They feel too strongly that Israel must die. There will be no compromise as far as they are concerned. This isn't the position they speak openly of, but it is the unfortunate truth.

IMO,
Dave

Sojourner the arabs established more settlements on the disputed lands than the Israelis. Further the whole issue of who settled before who is meaningless if both people intend to live in peace.

It makes a heck of difference if you intend to be constantly at war. Just as simple.

The major problems are not settlements but the fertility rate of the arabs at 4 times European / US average and close to it water

I have friends with families in the settlements and I have a met a few of them. Their hate for the Palestinians is immense. In fact, ten years or so ago, it was a past-time of some of the people I've met in the settlements to go into the PA villages and incite the people. While the Arabs hate the Jews, my experience has been, the Israelis in the settlements hate the Arabs just as much.
