I'd certainly like to learn more about this Japanese system, as this is quite an achievement, assuming it's true. The top 500 list (http://www.top500.org/) that the article references is well respected (we followed the twice-yearly updates closely while I was in Intel's supercomputer group), and LINPACK is an industry standard, so this is probably not BS.
