But what he and his people did were clearly impeachable offences. Burglary, taking large undeclared cash bribes, that's absolutely indefensible. What did Clinton do besides Monica and giving us the best economy we'll ever have for seven years? Whitewater cleared the Clintons of all charges in case you didn't notice lately. A big fat zero at the end of five years of investigation into nothing. Clinton enjoyed very high approval ratings all through his presidency, could easily have beaten Bush and was elected and re-elected DESPITE everyone knowing he fooled around. What was awful about the politics was the fact that the GOP tied to impeach him for NO REASON except saying he didn't cheat on his wife (Whitewater came up with zero anything) and dragged our country through this expensive harmful bedroom tabloid smear campaign complete with DNA semen evidence. Preposterous and shameful against the accusers. The country absolutely did not want to know that, nor do we pay our taxes for this kind of thing. It weasted our leaders time when they should have been focused on matters like terrorism. Legitimate crimes and corruption are one thing, fine. Receive a slush fund, burglarize opponents, do favors which result in rip-offs of tax-payers, fine, investigate away, but private lives (everyone';s imperfect especially Clinton) which effect no one but themselves, can only bring both houses down and make us all look like fools. GOP Speaker Livington had to resign at the same time the hypocrites were charging Clinton with infidelity. As if many of the accusers hadn't fooled around. What about Gingrich serving his wife with divorce papers in her hospital room when she was dying of cancer? What, he was faithful? It would be like the Democrats investigating Bush for secretly swilling a martini then lying about it. Absurd. We don't want to know.
