Clinton absolutely no comparison with Nixon. Nixon has to say "I'm not a crook". But what he and his people did were clearly impeachable offences. Burglary, taking large undeclared cash bribes, that's absolutely indefensible.

What did Clinton do besides Monica and giving us the best economy we'll ever have for seven years? Whitewater cleared the Clintons of all charges in case you didn't notice lately. A big fat zero at the end of five years of investigation into nothing.

Clinton enjoyed very high approval ratings all through his presidency, could easily have beaten Bush and was elected and re-elected DESPITE everyone knowing he fooled around. What was awful about the politics was the fact that the GOP tied to impeach him for NO REASON except saying he didn't cheat on his wife (Whitewater came up with zero anything) and dragged our country through this expensive harmful bedroom tabloid smear campaign complete with DNA semen evidence. Preposterous and shameful against the accusers. The country absolutely did not want to know that, nor do we pay our taxes for this kind of thing. It weasted our leaders time when they should have been focused on matters like terrorism.

Legitimate crimes and corruption are one thing, fine. Receive a slush fund, burglarize opponents, do favors which result in rip-offs of tax-payers, fine, investigate away, but private lives (everyone';s imperfect especially Clinton) which effect no one but themselves, can only bring both houses down and make us all look like fools. GOP Speaker Livington had to resign at the same time the hypocrites were charging Clinton with infidelity. As if many of the accusers hadn't fooled around. What about Gingrich serving his wife with divorce papers in her hospital room when she was dying of cancer? What, he was faithful? It would be like the Democrats investigating Bush for secretly swilling a martini then lying about it. Absurd. We don't want to know.

Admittedly he is a flawed man and no saint but was a great president in terms of how we all benfitted as a society and economy during most of his eight years. Most Americans and most of the world loved him and were happy he was there. No one can deny that.

A large proportion of America denies it. I certainly do. Clinton's time in office represents the worst of American politics; the absolute worst I've seen in my lifetime; he literally made Nixon look like a saint.

Oh stop......you need to go out for some air. The fumes from your pc are confusing you again. The only reason Nixon wasn't the worst in your lifetime is because he was a Rep.

>The notion that Clinton brought us economic expansion is absurd. You want to give him credit because he happened to be there. Economic expansion would have happened at that time and this place with or without Clinton. The economic expansion had begun before Clinton was elected; but it is a fact that Clinton hired the best liars in America to convince the voters it should all be attributed to him.

The economy did well because Clinton was too distracted to mess with it... the economy seems to be doing better than it was at the beginning of Bush's term because he's been involved too much in the war on terrorism.

Laissez-faire, people... invisible hand :)
