Alec Baldwin goes too far and is a true lefty liberal, as opposed to me or most Democrats, but I do agree with one thing Alec Baldwin says, and it needs to be said now over and over and over because it is a major Bush political ploy, using 9/11 beyond where it should be used, for his own gain.

Bush is clearly trying to extend the war on terrorism as long as he can whether it's needed or not to keep his ratings high and silence his critics. Time after time he tells us "this will take years". How does he know? The Taliban fell within weeks. Osama and crew are either dead, captured or hiding. What if terrorism slows to a trickle? Do we need the war then? Of course not.

Now Bush tells us we must go after Saddam. In a perfect world, yeah, replace him right away I agree, just kill him. But if Bush attacks Saddam it may be more for personal political reasons than anything. Also his Axis Of Evil (I'm good they're evil) is clearly a black-white attempt to create unrealistic boogy-men. This is the same type of thing he used to try and cram the useless Star Wars down our throats. North Korea for instance is no real threat to us, and I doubt Iran and Iraq are either. Those two are however a threat to Israel. But Israel has shown it can defend itself (with our military aid).

So Bush is exposed by Baldwin, but I do not believe this will work for Bush for much longer. He cannot put off investigations into his energy policies for long. Once the networks bring all their reporters home and the Robert Blake murder trial is over the press will have more time to devote to why Cheney is withholding his energy papers, and the massive collusion which took place regarding the so-called energy crisis, including his close relationship with Enron. There are currently four high level investigations into the Bush-Enron-Cheney energy scandals and they are not going to go away.

Yeah Baldwin isn't to be taken that seriously, but even if you disagree with him and his tone, you have to admit he is not totally wrong either. Just watch to see how long Bush tries to stretch the war. I know one thing, if I were a terrorist I wouldn't be active during this war. I'd either retire from terrorism or go underground and wait. So root them out yeah, but that's more a law enforcement issue than a military one. Therefore it's not a war. It's more like trying to bust coke lords or gangsters.
