I've looked as well, and this is an exact description of what came to my mind.

Guess I'll keep watching.

vt. We are on exactly the same page.

A lot of pure fundamentalists put too much emphasis on company specific analysis and ignore the great importance of sector and market dynamics. Without an understanding of that flow of funds into OR out of a sector (or stock) that chart work, TA, sentiment analysis, COTs, interest rates, monetary policy, and awareness of changes in regulatory policy can provide? It's all too easy to make purchases that are so badly timed that one can sit for extended periods with dead money or even increasing losses.

People don't always become LT investors by design. Sometimes it's because their egos won't let them cut losing positions early, and then they become trapped in a cycle of denial about dead money or even large portfolio losses.

My best results have come from combining some company specific fundamental screening with whatever tools are most effective for evaluating the market dynamics my fav sectors.

We may not always be in the same stocks or asset allocation status. But I enjoy reading your thoughtful posts.

Best regards,
