It's a war approval rating. Even I supported Bush during the Afghan war. His father also had 75% during the Gulf War. It come back to earth very very quickly and Bush's political team knows this. So long as the war keeps going Bush can feel safe. But if the war becomes unnecessary let's call him on it. No need to have wars just to keep Bush in power. Big waste of money, lives and a corruption of democracy. Assuming it happens - all this is projection into the near future based on Bush's recent speeches. "The war will last years" is his mantra now. I'm sure it's wishful thinking.
