Dave the reality that the vacant liberal minded lefty loons don't understand is that economic sense of windmill energy productions quickly goes to zero as the percentage of the total varying demand increases over a few percent. Wind makes some sense when they can reduce the most expensive peak load conventional generation facilities.

Much energy is needed where windmills will not work because of weather and siting considerations. Also within regular weather patterns you can have several hours of thousands of square miles with too little or too much wind. It is 100% unreliable for 24x7 in year to as little as a month.

Now that is not just one conventional plant, it is all wind mills within dozens to hundreds of miles.
