I am saying now that Afganistan is all but over. If there are substantial new threats then the war must go on. If not then it's a police action. But Bush wants WAR to continue. With anyone worthwhile. That is the strategy behind his Axis Of Evil talk. Problem is no one is biting. True Saddam is a curse but watch Bush try to pick a fight with him now to give us the excuse to go in. Bush has already taken to calling Saddam a supporter of terrorism. But most of the terror is against his own people. There is no evidence he's ever reached out to hit us. GW also wants to make up for his father's blunder leaving Saddam in power. first revenge against Clinton then revenge against Saddam. It's personal and it would also help him stay in power, or so he believes. He is well aware his father had 75% approval ratings during the Gulf War but then lost in two years because of the recession. Like father like son? Very possible.
