>> the Enron mess hasnt touched Bush Admin<< Jim, the Enron mess has touched investors and all corporation employees who have a 401K heavily invested in their own company. You're right that the Administration thinks that Enron is a small issue, and therefore, the solutions being proposed are band-aid type solutions, not fundamental changes.

If they don't propose MAJOR changes, investor confidence in the stock market will be permanently affected, and you can be sure that those concerns will show up at the ballot box in November. As Dashle, who you think is a clown, has noted, he's willing to let his South Dakota constituents have an opportunity to voice their opinions next November.

The Administration is turning into nothing more than a conduit for special interests, particularly those in the oil, insurance, coal, and corporate farming sectors; and lately also in its proposals to allocate spectrum for wireless telecommunications. You're probably right that it may be difficult for anyone in the Administration to jump start the stock market, but they're certainly not doing anything to raise investor confidence.
