Why is when someone suggests people should be investing someone else assumes investing means buying INTC, CSCO, AMAT, and MSFT?

Meanwhile some very nice small to mid caps gave you a very decent return last year and even more in the last six-seven months. If you were focused on the end of the world as we know it, you missed 'em. Gold producers weren't the only thing that went up last year, hard to believe, eh?

As for tech, the country is awash in capacity but it isn't the right capacity. Some small innovative companies will capitalize on this, as usual. Meanwhile other less sexy forgotten businesses continue to grow masked by the general malaise. This is the kind of market I love, when the public hates stocks.
