They now place the chances of the severe east coast drought of getting enough rain by July 1st to break drought.
If this drought isn't busted they are saying this will be worst east coast drought since 1966( boy do i remember that one, i was in NYC on the hottest day/night in it's history--111degrees daytime/nighttime low about 99degrees, and where i was that night had NO airconditioning-yikes:).But here is the biggie, they are saying we are in danger of repeating 1966 and if we do the economic consequences could be considerable as the DEMAND for water is far higher than in 1966. They are saying already certain areas are refusing building permits if they can't prove that they will have sufficient water supply --this, in an emergency could become widespread.
Fortunately, due to a quirk, my area, is one of those micro-areas that now have a loaded ground water(the reason is too long to explain just say, we had the very rare event of having our first major snowfall occur on top of UNFROZEN ground and the ground never did freeze(amazing)
