— ExxonMobil has been allowed to veto the United States government's selection of who will head the prestigious scientific panel that monitors global warming. Dr. Robert Watson, the highly respected leader of the Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change, was blackballed in a memo to the White House from the nation's largest oil company. The memo had its effect last Friday, when Dr. Watson lost his bid for re-election after the administration threw its weight behind the "let's drag our feet" candidate, Dr. Rajendra Pachauri of New Delhi, who is known for his virulent anti-American statements....

Way to go, Bush. Keep getting rid of the people who don't see it your way until the only ones that you have left are the ones that agree with you. Then you can cite them as a world authority.

Del

Dear Del and all: Just remember folks, GORE is the man who would HAPPILY tax gasoline up to at LEAST $5 a gallon and preferrable $7 a gallon to FORCE people to give up their automobiles. In his book he calls the automobile the biggest danger to USA or words to that effect. I advise everyone to read the "Greening of America" (I think that was the title). Scared the hell out of me, he is either an idiot or a flaming tree hugger of the worst kind or maybe both. His ideas would spell the downfall of America economically, is that REALLY what you want? JDN
