Wanna_bmw, brace yourself for a mental blow, but it is possible for a company to offer systems using one chipset, then add another SKU for a system with a different chipset - using the same processor, without discontinuing the first offered chipset!

In fact, companies like Dell, Compaq, and others do such a thing today!

This clearly shows that Compaq is aiming for a January launch of Clawhammer.

I don't think it is inconsistent with Q4 launch. The units during the first quarter of the release will most likely be < 1M units, with higher volume to come later.

Athlon and P4 started the same way.
