UPI was at one time in its slide owned by Saudi investors, before finding what looks like its final resting place in the Moonie empire. mediachannel.org

I couldn't find the article I was looking for, but my understanding is UPI is pretty much just a shell now with no major subscribers, 3 venerable letters that let the Washington Times put stuff out with the axe a little bit hidden.
