Hi John Cavanaugh; Re: "Whats your solution? Look the other way and let the Arabs and their Euro-fascist allies finish Hitler's job?"

Interesting choice of words. If the world really was filled with "Euro-fascists" and Arabs intent on finishing "Hitler's job", why do you imagine that we've got the power to stop them? The Europeans already outnumber us, even not counting the Arabs. By the way, you failed to mention a lot of other (allegedly) Jew hating countries around the world, particularly the non Arab Moslem countries, and the former Soviet Union states. And the Chinese too, I suppose.

In other words, your rhetoric illustrates the bankruptcy of a foreign policy based on trying to go against the wishes of the world majority. If the whole wide world really is anti-semitic, then how long do you think that Israel will last? Wouldn't it be less destructive if we simply granted permanent residency status to Israeli citizens and let them move here? It'd be wonderful for our economy. The Jews have already done well here. There's already more Jews living in the US than in Israel, and we could avoid the hassle of trying to defend a postage stamp sized piece of flat built-up territory from nut case suicide bombers.

As far as the wages paid to those who stand up for things that "are worth standing up for", particularly halfway across the globe, here's one of my favorite poems, from the experience Lord Byron had fighting for freedom of the Greeks from the Ottoman empire:

When a man hath no freedom to fight for at home,
Let him combat for that of his neighbours;
Let him think of the glories of Greece and of Rome,
And get knock'd on the head for his labours.

To do good to mankind is the chivalrous plan,
And is always as nobly requited;
Then battle for freedom wherever you can,
And, if not shot or hang'd, you'll get knighted.
