Those atrocities are not shown on CNN or BBC - Palestinian shot by masked men in Ramallah
By Hadeel Wahdan,

nor is the UN outraged by the murder by forces under arafat command

As the masked men fled the scene, they shouted they were from the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, a militia linked to Arafat's Fatah movement.

A foreign television crew filmed the shooting from the back of the crowd, capturing the gunmen backing away, continuing to fire at their targets, and then fleeing.

Ibrahim Abdo, 26, of Jifna village near Ramallah, died in a Ramallah hospital after being left to bleed in the streets. Ambulances also were kept back from two others who were less seriously wounded and who hospital officials identified as Maysarah Nijem, 33, and Talat Qadada, 26, both of the Gaza Strip.

Dozens of accused collaborators have been executed in recent months. In early April, 10 Palestinians were killed for allegedly providing Israel information, including one man whose body was strung up from a monument in the center of Ramallah.

During the first anti-Israel uprising in the Palestinian territories in 1987-93, some 800 Palestinians accused of collaboration were killed.

Would it possible for an international body, or something, to step in

Anything is possible ET, if outside parties wish to actually involve themselves in resolving the issue, and back it up with enough political, military, and economic resources and will.

But again.. if they do it for the Palestinians, the next you know, they'll have to do it for every other ethnic entity seeking a "homeland".

Heck.. they might even have to do it for Texas.. since those folks already believe they are "like a whole 'nother country"..

But you also have to keep in mind that Germany and Japan were established political states, and it required years of occupation and outside rule, in addition to massive aid, before they could stand on their own feet again.

But with "Palestine", parties would be required to create an entirely new state without any real foundations already in place. And by imposing a "foreign" system upon them, without having significant support of the populace, you'd only create resentment and make the leadership appear to be an international puppet of the UN.

But better than giving them land, give them all a job, and a decent paycheck.. That's what needs to happen here so these people don't have the time, or motivation, to plot suicide bombings. There really needs to be extensive economic development in the territories since without it, they will remain economically backward and at the mercy of outside suppliers, transportation, and markets.

It's one thing to wage a war of resistance to overthrow the established "order", but quite another to actually be able to replace it with something better.

And I'd wager that anything Arafat has in mind is FAR WORSE than what the Israelis have imposed.
