I'm not sure that it is. In fact I think it is not. Perhaps a majority but not "most".

Why?

If it is true. Then perhaps its because a majority of activists in general are male. This is probably less true then it used to be, but I think it is still true.

They are often loners, with no woman in their lives, very religious or even demented enough to pick up a gun and go murder the receptionist at a family planning clinic. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Your wrong.

Not completly wrong in the sense that there are no pro-life activists or protesters that are like that, but wrong if your saying that the typical one is. Many of them are female BTW, including all of the ones I know personally. I don't think it really matters much but since you want to make such a big point of someone's sex rather then what they have to say I figured I'd throw that in.
