From Briefing.com: 7:40AM Micron/Hynix talks progress (MU) 29.50: Announces the signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding for the purchase of Hynix's memory business in exchange for approx 108.6 mln shares of Micron common stock. Micron will also invest $200 mln in Hynix in return for a 15% equity stake in Hynix's continuing non-memory businesses. As part of the transaction, Korean lenders will provide $1.5 bln of long-term debt financing for use by Micron in its Korea-based operations.

Is this the non-interest bearing debt I heard about? If so, what a deal MU is pulling. Exchange stock for cash in a business in which they have only made money 3 or 4 qtrs in the last four years. Continue to sell your own stock. Get rich and not only screw your own shareholders, screw the Koreans too.

NV: Re: "Justa, Today is one day that I think too many people are negative even though it does not seem so by the indicators you are following."

You have just seen one of the better bull traps of this bear market sprung on the bulls. A false gap up off an illusory double bottom last week that had channel folks and others looking up only to get stranded on an island with the gap down this morning. Make no mistake about it, this is a mean market.

Re: "The market will take off this afternoon."

Best that can be hoped for is a short covering bounce. Don't look to me for it <g> as today's action still leaves stranded longs from all of last week looking down from an island.
