Jim,

We got a color laser in the office, the HP 4550 model, and even though I did not time it, I think it does 4ppm, or better. We got the duplex unit as well. Besides the neatness of color printing for regular documents, we actually switched from a an outside printer to have one of frequently used forms, and the cost difference will probably pay for the printer in 1 year, besides having an order of magnitude "neater" output, and "JIT delivery" (instead of piles of boxes).

The colors in the printer are separated, so that you can replace say Magenta only. The cost of HP cartridges is still higher than I would like, but it still beats using outside printer company.

Joe

Jim: If I could get 4 ppm color on a laser vs 1 ppm on a inkjet I'd switch over.
