<<We offer the Palestinians an independent state, their full land actually, a position in Jerusalem, believe me, nobody in Israel understands why the deal reject. That is the heart of the problem as far as Israel’s concerned. But our choice is to make peace, pay the price, painful compromises every moment.>>

It's too bad Foreign Minister Peres in not the current Prime Minister of Israel...IMO, if he was we'd be closer to peace in The Middle East.

Yep, I watched Meet the Press Sunday. I thought both Peres and the Saudi advisor were extremely good.

ajs,

Peace, the Isra-Elis want peace? On what terms?

If so, why don't they just get to it. They would surely be in a better position, politically with the world, if they pulled out of the West Bank and Gaza.

Isra-El is not under threat. They are secure, except for the suicide bombings, but those do not threaten the security of the State. It is an inconvienence, that could be rectified with the pull-out from those occupied territories.

As far as illegal guns are concerned, Mr. Peres, has convienent amnesia, when he forgets who was smuggling arms and people into Palestine while a British protectorate.

If the Isra-Elis do not want to dominate others, they can start by releasing water to the Palestinians so they can live comfortably and divert it from the swimming pools and lawn sprinklers in Isra-El.

If folks want to tell a story, the whole story should be told.

Compared to Sharon, the war criminal, Peres is closer to the mark however.

Thanks for the link, it was indeed a good one.
